Every Friday morning the coaches and some of the staff around here play a “friendly” soccer game against some of the Academy players who have school off.
Assistant Coach Tony Bruce wrote the recap below. Enjoy!
Wapo’s Vs Tronkinho’s
Like a well-oiled machine the Fabulous Wapo’s continued their march into infamy. A last minute winner from Garrett (I’m on time) Cleverly, subdued the cries of victory from the crushed voices of the well beaten Tronkinho’s, 15-14.
The return of Haeden (Just keep working, I’m not good at math ) Turner and with the prodding of Eric (I’ll play in goal, but it’s not my fault) Gonzalez, was not enough as new Wapo Danny (Just give me the ball and it’s over) Gavin ran rough-shod over the Tronkiho’s defense.
Octavio (Sick-note) De La Torre and his partners, Renzo (I almost scored) De Ovalle and Pato (I can’t believe it, INCREDIBLE!!) Cevallos trudged off the field knowing that winning was just not an option against the Wapo’s midfield led by Freddy (YAWN) Juarez, Mike (I was not worried) Kraus and Miha (Another walk in the park) Kline.
Tim (No Hit, No Hit!!!) Seketa, playing his farewell Champions League game, held the line as Sirhat and Carlos patrolled in front of his goal negating any chance that Te (Boo Hoo) Atawongi and Jason (We can’t be this bad can we?) Eng struggled to come to grips with the pace of the Wapo’s counter attack.
Up front for the Wapo’s Tony (Left, Right, Header. Any way you want them) Bruce continued to torture newcomer Dani (The occasion was just too big) Acosta , who could not help veteran Chris (I’ve never played in this position) Braybrooks in the defensive zone, as the Wapo’s continued their 100 game winning streak despite the Tronkinho’s valiant effort.
The saga continues as the Tronkino’s mathematics department checks and rechecks their arithmetic wondering how they could not get the number to win or tie the game. The Wapo’s refereeing department continues to be infallible.
