Grande Sports Academy, Casa Grande, AZ – From September 6-17 U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Soccer Team will be heading overseas to Mill, Netherlands for an 11-day training camp. Grande Sports Academy soccer academy team, Real Salt Lake – Arizona, gets another validation of developing top-level quality soccer players. RSL-AZ U18 players, Jordan Allen and Benji Lopez have been included in head coach Javier Perez’s 20-player roster for this training camp in Europe.
The U-18 Men’s National Soccer Team travels to the Netherlands on September 7 and is scheduled to play an international friendly against the Netherlands on September 11 in Groesbeek, Netherlands. Additionally, they will also play three high quality friendly matches against U-18 club teams representing Feyenoord Rotterdam, Borussia Dortmund and Club Brugge during the week.
The roster features 10 players (Jordan Allen was among those 10) from the team’s trip to Lisbon, Portugal from May 23-26 for the Lisbon International Tournament where the U-18 MNT earned draws against Poland and Slovakia before a hard-fought 1-0 loss to host Portugal.
Of the 20 players called into camp, 13 are currently part of teams set to compete in the upcoming 2012-13 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season which begins this weekend. Real Salt Lake – Arizona is the only team besides Chivas USA that had two players (Allen and Lopez) called into camp. Unfortunately, they will not be back in time to join our RSL-AZ U18 team for the season home opener on September 15 against San Juan FC. We would like to invite you to come to Grande Sports World and give some extra support to our teams as they battle for the opening win of the season.
