CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Major League Soccer has released the Final Round schedule for the 2013-14 Generation Adidas Cup. Real Salt Lake U-17, winners of Central Region qualifying, have been slotted into Group B with LA Galaxy U-17, Toronto FC U-17 and English club Stoke City U-17.
All the teams play each other once in a round-robin format. RSL will kickoff the final round against Toronto FC on Monday, April 14th at 4:00 PM local time. They will return to action the following day against Stoke City at 8:00 PM, before taking a one day break and wrapping up group play against LA Galaxy on Thursday, April 14th at 6:00 PM. The winner of the group will advance to the second round on Friday, April 14th, which will then be followed by the final round on Sunday, April 20th, 2014.
In Central Region qualifying, RSL U-17 won four matches and outscored opponents 21-7 in five matches. Sebastian Saucedo led the Claret-and-Cobalt in scoring with five and was followed by Josh Doughty who had four and Diego “Diablo” Silva who notched three.
Toronto FC qualified out of the Eastern Region by going undefeated in five matches for a second place finish. LA Galaxy split four matches in Western Region qualifying winning two and dropping two for a third place finish.
Stoke City isn’t the only foreign club to join the final round. Mexican side C.D. Guadalajara has been slotted into Group C with FC Dallas, Philadelphia Union and San Jose Earthquakes, while Brazilian club Fluminense FC has been slotted into Group A with New York Red Bulls, Seattle Sounders and Colorado Rapids.
