This past weekend marked the midway point for the Real Salt Lake U-16 & U-18 Academy teams. Through 14 USSDA league matches, both RSL Academy teams are the current leaders in the Southwest Division for their respective age groups.

The RSL-AZ U-16 & U-18 Elite teams have shown well in all competitions this season. The U-16s & U-18s won promotion to Division I of the Arizona State League in the fall. Earlier this month the U-16s won back-to-back tournaments: 2014 Desert Classic (Feb. 7-9) and Presidents Day Tournament (Feb. 14-17).

SAN DIEGO – Eric Carbajal and San Gleadle continued their impressive start to 2014, helping Real Salt Lake U-18 defeat Nomads SC U-18, 3-2, in a chippy affair that saw a combined seven yellow cards and three red cards shown between the two Southwest Division foes.
DEL MAR, Calif. – Real Salt Lake U-18 extended its match winning streak to three following their 4-1 win over Southwest Division rivals San Diego Surf on Saturday afternoon. The Claret-and-Cobalt was led by Damian German, who recorded a first half brace and Eric Carbajal, who scored a goal on either side of the half.
Dillon Nino, University of Dayton: “It feels amazing because of everything that I have had to go through with people doubting me saying I wouldn’t make it and not go to college. Now that I have signed, it just shows that hard work pays. I want to thank my family, coaching staff, tutors at the Grande and Marshall the trainer.”

Corey Baird, Stanford: “I can’t believe after a year and a half after I verbally committed it’s here and my dream of going to Stanford is now a reality. I want to thank my mom and dad for all their support for over the years because I’ve been away from home for the past two and a half years.”
