CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Real Salt Lake U-14 wrapped up their three match showcase at the Grande Sports World with a 2-1 win over Colorado Rapids U-14 on Monday morning.
Aristotle Zarris scored the first goal for RSL in the 7th-minute when a Nestor Serrano shot was saved by the Rapids goalkeeper, who failed to clear to ball out of the box. Zarris ran up and finished the chance. The second goal was scored in the 33rd-minute when Serrano cleaned up a loose ball in the box and tapped it in from close range.

RSL U-14 improved over the course of the weekend after losing the first match to Toronto FC, 0-1, on Friday afternoon. On Saturday the Claret-and-Cobalt played FC Dallas to a 1-1 draw.

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – The coaching staff at the Grande Sports Academy home of the Real Salt Lake – Arizona Academy is preparing for one massive weekend of soccer, as the RSL-AZ U-16 & U-18 Elite teams are set to participate in Presidents Day Tournament in Phoenix, while the Real Salt lake U-17 and U-15 will play hosts to a handful on Major League Soccer Academy teams at the Grande Sports World for the second leg of the 2013-14 Generation Adidas Cup. The U-16 Elite team dominated their age group, but had one unfortunate hiccup on Saturday morning when Fubolito Bimbo Fuente Azul 98 defeated the Claret-and-Cobalt 4-2 in a physical match. Midway through the second half and trailing by two goals, Javi Avelar cut the deficit when he converted a penalty, however, Fuente Azul scored two more minutes and held on for the win. Robby Orona added a late goal for RSL.
The RSL U-18 Elite team went undefeated in Arizona State League play and finished second in their Division after earning two draws this past weekend. On Saturday, Tevin Lowe scored the lone goal for the U-18s in a 1-1 draw with AZ Inferno 96,. The draw meant that the Claret-and-Cobalt could not drop points to their Sunday opponent Sereno South White, who had not given up a goal in six matches.
