RSL U18 Academy Overview – U18′s have done well in 2013, going W8-D1-L3. This past weekend they were defeated by Chivas USA on 5/4/13 and defeated by LA Galaxy on 5/5/13. Te Wihongi made his debt for the Academy team against Chivas and Benji Lopez, 12 goals on the season, made his first appearance for RSL against Chivas since December due to injuries.
Last Game – Tough weekend for RSL. On 5/4/13 against Chivas USA, RSL lost, 3-2. Goals were scored by: Benji Lopez and Jose Hernandez. The following day RSL lost to LA Galaxy, 1-0. Full recaps and pictures from those games here.
Right Now – RSL is W17-L5-D4 on the season and has dropped down to second place in the Southwest Division. Losing out on 6 points this weekend has put RSL in a tough spot. They now have 55 points and have played one game fewer than LA Galaxy who took over first place and have 57 points on the season for a 2.28 ppg average. Last week RSL had the 4th best ppg in the country and they now have the 8th best.
Up Next – U18′s are off this weekend. Next game will be against Pateadores on May 18th.
Last Game – Mixed weekend for RSL. On 5/4/13 against Chivas USA, RSL lost, 4-2. Goals were scored by Brooks Lennon and Alex Knox (PK). The following day RSL defeated LA Galaxy, 2-1. Both goals scored by Brooks Lennon. Full recaps the pictures from those games here.
Right Now – RSL is now W16-L6-D4 on the season and in 3rd place in the Southwest Division with 52 points for a 2.00 ppg average. Second place Real So Cal has played one fewer game than RSL and has 51 points for a 2.04 ppg average. First place Chivas USA needs a Real So Cal draw or loss to clinch the division. RSL can not catch them. RSL is still the #1 seed in the wildcard pool.
