U.S. Soccer has selected Jordan Allen as Week 28 Player of the Week. Allen’s achievements this past week during Real Salt Lake – Arizona and RSL Reserve matches were recognized in Around the Academy by USSoccer.com.
Allen’s weekend began on Saturday with a start and a full 75 minute of match play in RSL-AZ U18’s 3-0 win over the San Diego Surf. Allen then was a half-time substitute for the U18’s RSL-AZ 4-1 win over the Nomads SC. The week of match play for Allen was completed when he played a full 90 minutes in Tuesday’s RSL Reserve League match play against FC Dallas. Allen did have a couple of opportunities in RSL Reserve 3-0 loss.
Allen becomes the first repeat Player of the Week honoree this season. He was recognized for his play during Week 22 (February 19-20).
Allen has started in 4 U16 and 13 U18 games for RSL-Arizona this season and has 5 goals to his credits. TopDrawerSoccer listed Allen as the 5th ranked player in their 2013 National Top 100 Players. Allen has also made a 2013 verbal commitment to continue his soccer play and academic studies at the University of Virginia.
