A few weeks ago RSL-AZ Academy forward Coco Navarro was called up by Real Salt Lake to possibly play in a reserve game against San Jose Earthquakes. Unfortunately, Navarro sat on the bench was not featured in that game.
This past weekend Navarro was called up again and not only did he see significant playing time, subbed in at the beginning of the second half, he scored a goal in the 84th minute. The goal ended up being very important for RSL because Colorado scored in the 89th minute.
RSL was able to hold onto the lead, defeating Colorado Rapids Reserves, 2-1.
“The coaches told me that they were going to try to put me in this time and I was able to play a full 45 minute and I was happy,” Navarro said.
Below is full highlights from the game. If you skip ahead to 3:05 you can see Navarro’s goal.
Congrats Coco we are all so proud of you!
