Real Salt Lake called up U18 Academy player Coco Navrro and U16 Academy player Bofo Saucedo for a reserve game versus Colorado Rapids.
Navarro, Marquette signee, has been called up three times before. He has played in two previous games coming off the bench in both and scored what would become the game winning goal versus Colorado Rapids. He received his first ever start and went the full 90 minutes for the reserves in the Rapids game.
“It was good this time,” Navarro said. “I got the start and it was good to know the coaches have confidence in me. Hopefully I get called up again.”
Bofo Sacuedo earned his first call up by RSL. He entered the game minutes into the second half.
“My body was tensed up,” Bofo said. “I was nervous and before the game started the coaches told me I was going to go in for sure but he didn’t know what point. I was nervous when warming up and passing the ball with the players. I thought I played pretty good. I didn’t connect some passes but I thought I did good when I got into rhythm with the team.”
There were a few chances for both teams but no one could capitalize resulting in a scoreless draw. Game recap here from RSL. Next reserve game is Sunday, April 14th vs Vancouver Whitecaps. We will keep everyone updated if any RSL-AZ Academy players receive a call up.
Players to receive call ups thus far:
