CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Real Salt Lake has called up Academy players Jose Hernandez and Niki Jackson for the Claret-and-Cobalt’s final Reserve League match of the 2013 season against Chivas USA on Tuesday, September 24th.
This marks the 4th consecutive call up for Hernandez and the first call up in three weeks for Jackson, who last featured in a Reserve League match against the Portland Timbers on August 31st.
Tuesday’s match will be held at America First Field with kickoff set for 10:00 a.m. Arizona time. Fans can follow the action on the Real Salt Lake Twitter account. Grande Sports Academy graduates Benji Lopez, Lalo Fernandez and Carlos Salcedo, who have all signed with Real Salt Lake, may feature in the match as well.
Active academy players who have also received a call up this calendar year are: Brooks Lennon, Justen Glad, Corey Nemeth, Fito Ovalle.
Academy players who received a call up this calendar year and are currently playing collegiate soccer: Coco Navarro, Andrew Brody, Ive Burnett, Jon Zabasajja, Jordan Allen.

Brooks Lennon is going to be well traveled once the 2013-2014 Real Salt Lake Academy season starts in September. National Team duty will take him all over the world, academy playoffs will take him to Dallas and now a stop with a club team in Europe is the latest addition to his busy summer.
The past thirty days have been exciting at the Grande Sports Academy. Home Grown signee Carlos Salcedo made his professional debut for Real Salt Lake, four academy players were called up to the U-18 & U-17 MNT teams, former player Ricardo Velazco helped PDL side FC Tucson make an incredible run in the US Open Cup, both of our academy teams finished second in the Southwest Division qualifying for the Development Playoffs and now the icing on the cake has occurred.
